Type of Production
I was asked to create a film with my group for a short film festival. Before we were put together into our groups we all had to come up with our own individual ideas and then decide between us which one we are going to choose. The genre of our film was a Comedy and our sub genre was Horror, however when making the film we never decided that it would be a Comedy it was just suppose to be Horror but during the making we had changed things since nearly everyone decided to use a Horror as there genre. I liked the idea of doing a Comedy since if people are laughing that shows my group and I that they are enjoying it so therefore comedy seemed one of the best ways to make people enjoy it.
Single Camera
Single camera may be beneficial for the type of production that you are putting on, benefits of using a single camera production is that it would be much easier and quicker to set up therefore this is less time consuming. Also it would be much cheaper to buy one single camera and hire one camera man/woman to record the production that is being put on. What would also be beneficial is that there is more locations that could be hired out as there is not as much equipment that is needed to be used therefore there is more space this makes it easier for the director. This would also give the director more control over each shot taken. Single camera makes this look very realistic to the audience.
However single camera could be more time consuming when adjusting the lighting as it needs to be changed or moved every time the camera angle has changed, and also in the post production process the editing would take an extreme amount of time. Also it would be a difficulty in reproducing a scene as everything needs to be put exactly the way it was. having a single camera means that the camera would need to moved very often if the set location changes for example.
