A way to receive funding for a movie can
be done by asking a nearest and dearest for example a family member, or a close
friend that has money to spare to fund a film. The way of asking them is to
maybe pitch an idea to them that tries to convince them that you are very
serious about making the film, and that if you've taken to time to create a
presentation to them they may be more lenient to fund the film. By asking a
family or friend they may be able to spread the word about the film and get you
involved with their contacts who may have more power over funding the
movie.
The Movie Fund is a company that has a range of people that allows
potential filmmakers to get involved with those people that can fund film. It
has large range of filmmakers, producers, directors, actors and investors that
can make this possible.
An advantage of receiving funding from family or friends is that because
you’re close with them they may see how much it means to you. A disadvantage of
this would be if the film did not work out then they would have to try pay back
the money that they borrowed, however they may not be able to pay back the
money which may cause complications with relationships.
